Biography

I have given BSc, MSc, and PhD lectures, and I have supervised MSc and PhD students as well as participated in MSc and PhD viva’s for several students in Iraqi Universities.

Research Interest

My research interests focus on Nutritional Biochemistry and Phytotherapy, particularly the therapeutic potential of dietary polyphenols, medicinal plant extracts, and bioactive compounds such as quercetin and oleuropein in regulating oxidative stress, lipid metabolism, and disease biomarkers. I am also deeply engaged in Cancer Epigenetics and Therapy, exploring how dietary compounds can alter DNA methylation patterns and contribute to innovative cancer treatments, including chemo-photothermal and magnetic field-based therapies. Additionally, I work on Nanotechnology in Biomedicine, developing nanomaterials like nanozymes and magnetite nanospheres for biomedical applications such as enzyme immobilization, toxic metal detection, and antioxidant therapy. My research extends to Oxidative Stress and Toxicology, investigating protective strategies against chemical-induced damage to vital organs, as well as Hyperlipidemia and Metabolic Disorders, where I study the effects of natural compounds and nanoparticles in managing lipid profiles and metabolic health. Furthermore, I have a strong interest in Environmental and Occupational Health, focusing on oxidative stress biomarkers to assess health risks in populations exposed to environmental pollutants.
